Licensing
The Razorpay plugin is licensed per installation. Below are the license tiers, activation rules, and management procedures.
The two license types
| Type | What you get | Updates |
|---|---|---|
| Leased | Works while the license is active. | Updates included for as long as it stays active. |
| Lifetime | Perpetual use of the installed version — you own it forever. | Newer versions need an active Support & Updates plan. |
The license-gated feature
The license directly controls payment processing and gateway availability:
- Inactive license: Neither Razorpay nor Razorpay Subscription appears under Admin → Payment Gateways, and transaction processing is disabled.
- Active license: Saving settings with an active key automatically registers both gateways. Both gateways operate in INR only.
If the license lapses while a customer is at checkout, they see:
Razorpay plugin license is not active. Please contact the administrator.
Where to enter and manage your key
All license management is handled under Admin → Plugins → Razorpay → Settings in the License section.
- Paste your key from relyweb.co into the License Key field.
- Click Save Settings to validate and activate the plugin.
License status indicators
- Active (Green): License is verified. Both gateways are registered and available for checkout.
- Not configured: The License Key field is empty.
- Invalid: Key validation failed (cause displayed in helper text, such as "Remote Check Failed").
License verification behavior
- Background validation: Local background checks verify license status with
relyweb.co. - Fault tolerance: Brief network interruptions do not disrupt active checkout flows.
- Status recovery: If the badge drops due to temporary network issues, re-save Settings to re-verify. If expired, renew at relyweb.co.
