Subscriptions

The Razorpay Subscription gateway connects recurring AcelleMail plans to Razorpay Subscriptions for automated cycle renewals and mandate management.

Plan mapping requirement

A plan mapping links a local AcelleMail plan to an identical plan in Razorpay. Razorpay manages the renewal schedule against its own plan definition.

Map a plan first

Unlike the direct Razorpay gateway, the Subscription gateway needs a mapping before use. In Admin → Remote Plan Mappings:

1. Find your local AcelleMail plan in the list.
2. Choose the Razorpay plan with the same currency and amount.
3. Click Map.

• Gateway availability: The subscription gateway appears only for plans that are mapped and priced in INR.
• Unmapped plans: Checkout displays "Razorpay Subscription — Not available for this plan".
• Direct payments: The one-time Razorpay gateway requires no plan mapping.

What happens when a customer subscribes

Step	What happens
1. Authorize the mandate	The customer authorizes a recurring mandate on Razorpay — approval to charge future cycles.
2. Automatic renewal	Razorpay auto-charges at each billing cycle; you never raise a renewal invoice by hand.
3. The plugin is notified	Razorpay sends each result by webhook; every subscription callback and webhook is signature-verified before it's acted on.

Successful renewal charges automatically advance subscription periods; failed or cancelled charges update customer account status accordingly.

Currency

Razorpay Subscriptions are INR-only here, so only INR-priced, mapped plans are eligible.
