FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Razorpay integration, payment processing, credentials, and plan mappings.

What's the difference between the two gateways?

  • Razorpay: Handles one-time invoice payments.
  • Razorpay Subscription: Manages recurring subscription plans with automatic renewals.
  • Both gateways are included in a single plugin installation and share credentials.

Which payment methods are supported?

Razorpay's checkout covers UPI, credit/debit cards, net banking and wallets — the same methods for one-time and subscription payments.

What currency is supported?

INR only. Only INR-priced plans are eligible, and subscription plans must be priced in INR to be mappable.

Do both gateways share credentials?

Yes. You enter your API Key ID, API Key Secret and an optional Webhook Secret once in Admin → Plugins → Razorpay → Settings, and both gateways use them. See Settings.

How do I switch between test and live?

  • Test mode: Activated by keys starting with rzp_test_.
  • Live mode: Activated by keys starting with rzp_live_.
  • The environment is determined by key prefix without requiring a separate sandbox toggle. See Going live.

Are my customers' card details stored?

No. Card and payment credentials are submitted directly to Razorpay's secure checkout. No sensitive payment details touch or reside on your server; transaction results are validated server-side.

How are updates delivered?

Updates are applied manually by downloading the latest ZIP package from relyweb.co and uploading it via the plugin manager. Settings and plan mappings persist across updates. See Updating.

What happens if my license lapses?

The gateways are hidden from checkout and payment processing stops. Customers at checkout see:

Razorpay plugin license is not active. Please contact the administrator.

Re-save or renew your license key under Settings to restore gateway functionality. See Licensing.

Why do I have to map subscription plans?

  • Recurring billing logic: Razorpay handles renewal schedules against Razorpay plan IDs.
  • Mapping requirement: Link each local AcelleMail plan to an identical INR plan in Razorpay via Admin → Remote Plan Mappings.
  • Direct payments: One-time payments do not require plan mappings. See Set up subscriptions.
