# Licensing

Your PayGlocal license activates gateway payment processing. Validation occurs during
checkout, and the key is managed directly inside gateway settings.

## The two license types

You can hold PayGlocal for WHMCS under one of two license types. Both let you run the current
version; they differ in how future updates are handled.

| License type | What you get |
| --- | --- |
| **Leased** | The module works while your license is active, and updates are included for as long as it stays active. If the lease lapses, you renew to keep using it and receiving updates. |
| **Lifetime** | Perpetual use of the version you're entitled to. Newer versions require active **Support & Updates**; when that period ends you keep running your current version and renew Support & Updates only when you want the latest release. |

## The license-gated feature

* **Active license:** Customers complete invoice payments through PayGlocal hosted checkout.
* **Inactive license:** New PayGlocal payments are disabled until a valid key is active again.
* **Outage tolerance:** Local background validation tolerates brief licensing-server outages without disrupting checkouts in progress.
* **In-flight protection:** A payment already completed at PayGlocal is still verified and recorded even if the license is inactive, so a customer is never charged without their invoice being credited.
* **Isolated scope:** An inactive license only affects PayGlocal; other WHMCS gateways keep working.
* **Restoration:** Renewing or entering a valid key in gateway settings and saving restores processing immediately.

## Where to enter and manage your key

Your key goes straight into the gateway configuration:

1. Go to **Setup → Payment Gateways → PayGlocal**.
2. Paste your key into the **License Key** field (you receive it from relyweb.co after purchase).
3. Click **Save Changes**.

If you ever move the module to a new domain or need to change the key, update the same **License
Key** field and save again.
