# Licensing

GeoSync Pro offers two license types that provide full feature access. This guide explains
license types, the license-gated feature, and key management.

## The two license types

| Type | What you get | Updates |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Leased** | Works while the license is active. | Updates included for as long as it stays active. |
| **Lifetime** | Perpetual use of the installed version — you own it forever. | Newer versions need an active **Support & Updates** plan. |

## The license-gated feature

**Currency Localisation** is the only license-gated feature in GeoSync Pro:

* **Active license:** Automatically displays local currencies to guest visitors based on geolocation.
* **Inactive license:** Currency localisation pauses, and visitors view your store's default currency.

License validation operates in the background:

* **Zero store latency:** Page loads never wait on remote licensing checks.
* **Uninterrupted checkout:** Checkout and ordering flows are never blocked.
* **Graceful recovery:** Re-entering or renewing an active key restores localisation immediately.

## Where to enter and manage your key

Go to **Addons → GeoSync Pro → Settings → License**.

* **Status details:** Displays license type, status, and Lifetime **Support & Updates** expiry dates.
* **Key entry:** Paste your key into **License Key** (format `Leased-XXXXXXXXXX` or `Lifetime-XXXXXXXXXX`) and save.
* **Initial setup:** Displays **No License Configured** until a valid key is saved.
